Grief is Like a Motorcycle

You grip the handlebars with everything you have, racing through roads you never chose, paths lined with memories that hit like sudden turns. Curves toss you into the past. Bumps slam into your chest with echoes of love. The engine sputters as a memory cuts through. No one can ride it for you. No one can slow the speed or soften the turns. And still, you keep going. Leaning into every curve, feeling the wind sweep through  the ghosts of what was, bearing the weight of love, loss, and memory. The ride is raw. It is terrifying. It is relentless. Grief is Like Duct Tape

It does not fix the cracks. It does not smooth the edges. It simply presses, clings, supports, keeping you going when you might otherwise fall apart. Some days it stretches thin, pulling against the weight it carries. Other days it grips firmly, holding every fragile piece in place. From the outside, you may look steady, patched, whole.
